The pumping station simulation teaching bench allows for the demonstration and analysis of the behaviour of a pumping installation subjected to different control systems.
Using this bench, parameters such as energy consumption, pumping efficiency, and the adaptation of flow rate and pressure to variations in demand can be observed and compared. In this way, it is possible to determine the advantages, limitations, and scope of application of each control system.
The configurations that can be analysed include the following:
- Control using physical or virtual pressure switches.
- Control using a pressure-sustaining valve.
- Control using a pressure-reducing valve.
- Control using pressure vessels of different sizes.
- Control using a variable frequency drive and programmable logic controller (PLC) regulation.
This test bench is used to support training, demonstration, and technology transfer activities conducted by CENTER.
