The experimental farm is an agricultural holding that does not neglect its productive aspects, although these are always subordinated to its status as a support for training and experimental tasks.
The training role of the facility includes the various water application systems, with installations designed to be demonstrated and operated during various practical exercises.
Regarding its experimental role, it features facilities that enable experimental design and data collection related to the efficient use of water, its management and the conservation of the natural environment.
In addition to the buildings that house the offices and training rooms for technology transfer activities, the farm has an area of approximately 100 hectares under irrigation where the irrigation elements and systems are located:
- Catchment, treatment, storage and distribution to the different irrigation systems
- Filtration equipment for each irrigation system
- Irrigation machines: Centre pivot, linear move (frontal advance) and hose reel travellers
- 45 hectares irrigated by sprinklers via solid set systems (buried total coverage)
- Surface irrigation zone with furrows and threshing floors
- Localised irrigation: Aerial and subsurface
- Greenhouses
- Lysimeter, agroclimatic station
- Remote control system for all hydraulic elements on the farm
- Irrigation materials and equipment testing laboratory
